Helping Families and Friends Honor Their Loved One
MR. ROGER DALE WILKINS

MR. ROGER DALE WILKINS

Mr. Roger Dale Wilkins, 74, of Pembroke, NC went to meet his Heavenly Father and reunite with his awaiting loved ones on February 5, 2023, at Morrison Manor, Laurinburg.  He was born to the late Mr. Daniel W. and Mrs. Thedis Wilkins at Ft. Hood, Texas on October 2, 1948 and was also preceded in death by: his brothers: Senowskey “Coskie” Wilkins and Daniel Wilkins Jr; and one sister Debra Wilkins.

Mr. Wilkins leaves to cherish his memory a loving daughter: Ms. Danielle Wilkins of Rowland, NC; one beautiful granddaughter: Stella “Mia” Hardin; three grandsons: Jeremiah Chavis, Kasey Hardin, and Bryce Hardin; five brothers; Mr. David Wilkins (Shelly) of North Chesterfield, Virginia, Mr. Michael Wilkins (Merlyn) of Pembroke, NC, Mr. Craig Wilkins (Felecia) of Atlanta, GA, Mr. Arnold Locklear (Nancy) of Huntersville, NC, and Mr. Leon Strickland (Rose) of Lumberton, NC; dear nephews, nieces, special neighbors: The Hunt girls; Kim, Jaylan, Ryleigh, Kyndall, and a host of family and friends.

Mr. Roger was delighted by the simple things.  First and foremost, his greatest accomplishment was being his mother’s keeper until her final days.  He enjoyed the outdoors; he rode his bike everywhere and did so until his legs got so weak he couldn’t.  He had a fondness for collecting antique cars, NASCAR, basketball, football, fishing, and Westerns.  He was a very stubborn, but loving man, even though it was hard for him to express it.  The meaner he was to you, the more you knew he loved you!  Roger was happiest when his granddaughter Mia visited and when he saw his girls (next door) playing outside.  He was a man of few words and had a small circle of friends. In the end, he was a humbled man.

The family will receive friends from 1:30-2:30 pm, Wednesday, February 8, 2023 at Pembroke Gospel Chapel and the funeral will follow at 2:30 pm.  Burial will follow at Lumbee Memorial Gardens.

The family will be receiving friends at the home of Mr. Roger D. Wilkins.
