Mr. Marshall Mobert Oxendine, 78, of 5813 Prospect Road, Maxton, was called home with the Lord on Friday, October 19, 2018 at Scotland Memorial Hospital. He was born March 25, 1940 to the late Mr. Paul Lee Oxendine, Sr. and Mrs. Macie Oxendine. Preceding his death is his beloved wife: Mrs. Jeanette Locklear Oxendine; his parents: Mr. Paul Lee Oxendine, Sr and Mrs. Macie Oxendine; his sisters: Ms. Peggy Hernandez and Ms. Doris Oxendine; and brothers: Mr. Dennis Oxendine and Mr. Paul Lee Oxendine, Jr. Mr. Marshal was a man with such a humble heart. He extended a wealth of love, support and encouragement to so many people. His gentle character gave children such a sense of warmth and trust. They regarded him as a father and papa who met their every wish or demand. He touched the lives of many as individuals reflect upon his strong and willing desire to bring elation, comfort and joy to his family, friends or anyone who needed his service or simply his aspiration to help others. His warm smile and sense of humor and love shall never be forgotten. Many people’s homes, churches and businesses have encountered his expertise as a painter and Marshal’s mark of his vocation shall remain with them for years to come. Left to cherish his memories are his sons: Mr. Kelton Oxendine (Candi), Mr. Adam Oxendine and daughter Mrs. Ava Locklear (Daryl); a special friend of 27 years, Ms. Jill Harris and daughters: Ms. Jennifer Graham and Mrs. Jessica Locklear (John); 12 grandchildren: Dustin, Cody (Kristen), Langston (Bridgett), DJ (Hillary), Joshua, Caleb, Jadyn, Kiera, Destiny, Jordyn, Joleih and Jensyn; 5 Great grand children: Aleigha, Haylee, McKenzie, Christia and Kyla; 3 sisters Ms. Virginia Caulder, Ms. Sarah Locklear and Mrs. Lynn Brooks (Ar) and 2 brothers: Mr. James Oxendine and Mr. Johnsie Oxendine (Red). The Family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 23, 2018, from 7-9pm at Prospect United Methodist Church. The Funeral will be Wednesday, October 24, 2018, at 2pm at Prospect United Methodist Church. In Lieu of Flowers, make donations to Locklear and Son Funeral Home.
