Mr. Clavin Oxendine, 92, of 346 Cabinet Chop Road, Maxton, was born on October 20, 1926 and passed away to his heavenly home on Sunday, January 20, 2019. He is the son of the late Mr. Robert Oxendine and Mrs. Lucy Tyler Oxendine. He worked for many years at McNair Dehydration Plant in Laurinburg. He loved farming, working the garden and witnessing for the Lord. The funeral will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 25, 2019, at Bakers Chapel Baptist Church with Revs Danny Brooks Jr. and Clyde Freeman officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his loving wife: Mrs. Allie Byrd Oxendine; brothers: Mr. Robert Lee Oxendine, Mr. Hallman Oxendine, and Mr. James Earl Oxendine; grandson: Brandon Mercer; sisters: Ms. Dorothy Locklear, Ms. Willow Dean Strickland and Ms. Muriel Oxendine. He leaves behind two sons: Mr. Carlton Ray Oxendine and Ronald Dean Oxendine; two daughters: Ms. Darcy Oxendine and Ms. Lynda Locklear; eight grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; two sisters: Ms. Nellie Hunt and Ms. Betty Brooks and a host of other extended family and friends. The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Thursday, January 24, 2019 at Locklear & Son Funeral Home.
