Mr. Earl D. Maynor

Mr. Earl D. Maynor, 75, of 8092 Hwy 72 West, was born November 19, 1937, and went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 29, 2013 at his home. Mr. Maynor is preceded in death by his parents: Rev. Lawrence and Mrs. Muncie Maynor; three grandsons: Master Willie and Master Welton Scott (infant twins), and Mr. Willie Eric Scott; seven brothers: Mr. Badger, Mr. Charles, Mr. Clennie, Mr. Warford, Mr. Lonnie, Mr. Grant, and Mr. Herman Maynor; and one sister: Ms. Martha Jane Robb.
He was a member of Union Chapel Holiness Methodist Church for 49 years and served in different positions as superintendent, class leader, and sunday school teacher. Mr. Maynor was a long-time self employed painter and farmer.
The funeral will be conducted 3:00 p.m. Sunday, September 1, 2013, at Union Chapel Holiness Methodist Church with the Revs: Willie Scott, Jr. and Anthony Chavis officiating. Burial will follow in the Maynor Family Cemetery.
Mr. Maynor leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 55 years: Mrs. Brenda Faye Maynor; two sons: Mr. Dexter Maynor of the home and Mr. Blake Maynor of Lincolnton; one daughter: Mrs. Bobbie Ann Scott (Willie) of Pembroke; one brother: Mr. Lee Ancil Maynor (Berteen) of Pembroke; three sisters: Ms. Cathie Lee Locklear of Pembroke, Mrs. Mildred Oxendine (Roy) of Pembroke, and Mrs. Pearlene Dixon (Ron) of West Palm Beach, FL; mother-in-law: Mrs. Willie Ree Chavis of Pembroke; one granddaughter : Ms. Catrina Ann Deese (Harvey) of Pembroke; six grandsons: Mr. Joshua Maynor, Mr. Cody Maynor, Mr. Phoenix Maynor, Mr. Deltron Locklear, Mr. Talon Locklear, Mr. Matthew Maynor; five great grandchildren; and a great number of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Saturday, August 31, 2013, at Locklear & Son Funeral Home.
