Mr. Johnson T. Lowery

     Mr. Johnson Truman Lowery, 70, of Lumberton, was born August 14, 1945 in Maxton, NC, to the late Mr. Caplor & Mrs. Mandy Harris Lowery.  He went to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 13, 2016, at Wake Forest Baptist Memorial Hospital in Winston Salem, NC.  He was also preceded in death by his sisters: Ms. Flora Ellen Thomas, Ms. Mabel Oxendine and Ms. Lola Worcester.
Mr. Truman worked 29 years with Vocational Rehab, 3 years with Truck Driving School and many years with the Lumbee Tribe in Pembroke.  He was a dedicated brothering at Pembroke Gospel Chapel.  He had a passion for spending time with his buddies on the golf course and enjoyed working in the garden.  He will be remembered for his loving nature and keen sense of humor.
The funeral will be 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 16, 2016, at Pembroke Gospel Chapel, 406 N. Jones Street, Pembroke with Bros: Charles Oxendine and Howard Brooks officiating.  Burial will follow in the Lumbee Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Lowery leaves to cherish his memories his loving wife of 46 years: Mrs. Irene G. Lowery; his daughter: Mrs. Nicole L. Locklear(Tim); his son: Mr. Nicklaus Lowery; three beloved grandchildren: Chloe Locklear, Nolan Locklear and Camden Locklear all of Lumberton; four brothers: Mr. Praford Lowery(Alice), Mr. Lee Grady Lowery(Mary Ruth) both of Maxton, Mr. Samuel Lowery(Sarah Douglas) of Florida and Mr. Thurman Lowery(Frances) of Lexington, NC; three sisters: Mrs. Sarah Applegate of Kansas, Mrs. Cheryl Locklear(Bundy) of Pembroke and Mrs. Virginia Lee(Greg) of California and many family and friends who loved him.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. Tuesday, August 16, 2016, at Pembroke Gospel Chapel.
