Mrs. Nancy Kay Locklear, 67, of 395 Cabinet Shop Rd., Maxton was born July 25, 1947 and departed this life on Monday, August 18, 2014 at First Health Moore Regional Hospital. She was preceded in death by her parents: Mr. Prather & Mrs. Ruthie Jane Strickland; brother: Mr. Prather (Cracker) Strickland, Jr. and her grandparents: Mr. Britton & Mrs. Sallie Oxendine and Mr. & Mrs. Fred Strickland.
Mrs. Locklear leaves a legacy of faithful servant hood as a loving wife, mother, sister, friend and neighbor. Most importantly, she was a servant to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, as a faithful member at White Hill Freewill Baptist Church.
The funeral will be conducted 3:00 p.m. Friday, August 22, 2014, at White Hill Freewill Baptist Church with the Revs: Kelvin Locklear, Scottie Deal and Graylen Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow in the White Hill Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Locklear leaves to cherish her memory: her husband: Mr. Tyrone Locklear of the home; three sons: Mr. Ronnie Locklear(Linda), Mr. Ronald Locklear(Vonda) and Mr. Timmy Locklear(Tracy) all of Maxton; six grandchildren: Dylan Tyler, Ashland Lynn, Braiden Tye, Timothy Noah, Lyndzie Rose and Kayden Elizabeth; her twin brother: Mr. Bobby Ray Strickland; special friend: Mrs. Rena Jacobs; special cousins, who were like her sisters: Mrs. Lula Deese, Ms. Eva Oxendine and Ms. Kathleen Sweat and a host of relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Thursday, August 21, 2014, at Locklear & Son Funeral Home.
