Mrs. Ella Mae “Granny” Clark Locklear, 83, of 114 Roscoe Road, was born on July 30, 1930 in Robeson County. On Wednesday, May 21, 2014, the angels were given a command to escort Granny from her earthly home to her heavenly mansion. She is preceded in death by her son: Mr. Pete Clark; her parents: Mr. John Ander Locklear and Mrs. Willie Mae “Sug” Locklear; a brother: Mr. Bobby C. Locklear; and two sisters: Ms. Pearlie Locklear and Ms. Annie Rooney Locklear.
The funeral will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Sunday, May 25, 2014 at Tabernacle Baptist Church with the Revs: Henry Oxendine, Hubbard Lowery, and George Locklear officiating. Burial will follow in the family cemetery.
Ms. Locklear is survived by her children: Mrs. Patricia (JW) Chavis, Mr. Edward (Helen) Clark, Mrs. Phyllis (Hubbard) Lowery, Ms. Regenia Clark, Mr. Bobby (Glynis) Clark, and Mr. Adam (Angie) Clark; daughters-in-law: Mrs. Linda Ruth Clark and Mrs. Amelia Clark; her siblings: Ms. Lula Jane Smith, Ms. Ruby Hammonds, Mr. John H. Locklear, Mr. Sam Locklear, Ms. Dorothy “Dot” Kinham, Ms. Melba “Mel” Locklear, and Mr. George Locklear; 20 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Saturday, May 25, 2014 at Locklear & Son Funeral Home.
