Mr. Alfonce Locklear, 81, of 669 Albert Road, Pembroke was born May 12, 1932 and died Sunday, November 17, 2013, at Southeastern Regional Medical Center. He was preceded in death by his parents: Mr. Colonel & Mrs. Macie (Trixie) Bullard Locklear; a daughter: Ms. Mitizi Locklear and two brothers: Mr. Bernell “Jap” Locklear and Mr. Otis Locklear. He was in the US Army serving in the Korean War.
The funeral will be conducted Thursday, November 21, 2013, at St. Anna Freewill Baptist Church with the Revs: Tony Miller and Clifton Locklear officiating. Burial to follow in the Bear Swamp Cemetery.
Surviving are his wife of 57 years: Mrs. Grace Locklear of the home; six brothers: Mr. Cerbert Locklear(Jackie) of Lumberton, Mr. Jimmy Locklear of the home, Mr. James Locklear(Geane) of Rowland, Mr. Mitchell Locklear(Mary) of Red Springs, Mr. Ed Locklear(Teena) of Pembroke and Mr. Brian Revels(Carlina) of Greensboro; a daughter: Ms. Cecilia Locklear of Rockingham; five brothers: Mr. Reedy Locklear, Mr. Julius Locklear, Mr. Charlie Locklear, Mr. Colonel Locklear, Jr. and Mr. Austin Locklear; a sister: Mrs. Yvonne Sanderson and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, November 20, 2013, at Locklear & Son Funeral Home.
