Mr. Johnny Bullard, 67 of 3109 N Chicken Road, Lumberton, NC departed his earthly home September 24, 2014 surrounded by his family. He was preceded in death by his brother: Mr. Delton Bullard, a sister: Mrs. Joyce B. Locklear, his parents: Mr. Zedan (Buck) and Mrs. Clavie Cummings Bullard.
The funeral will be conducted 3:00 P.M. Sunday, September 28, 2014, at Prospect United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dr. Kenneth Locklear, Rev. Bill James Locklear and Rev. Robert Mangum officiating. Burial will follow at Cummings Family Cemetery.
Mr. Bullard was member of Prospect United Methodist for 55 years. He sang in the Chancel Choir until his vision became impaired. He also sang with the Plainsmen Quartet until the death of their pianist, the late Ms. Mable Oxendine.
Mr. Bullard retired from the Public Schools of Robeson County. Mr. Johnny enjoyed gardening and working in the greenhouse. He and his wife traveled to over 35 US States. Mr. Bullard loved his family and often hosted many family functions especially birthdays and yearly egg hunts for his grandchildren.
Surviving are his wife of 42 years: Mrs. Annie R. Bullard, two sons: Mr. Mark A Bullard and Mr. Ross Bullard (Shantonia), a brother: Mr. Samuel Bullard of Raeford, a sister: Mrs. Willa Mae Lee of Red Springs, and eight loving grandchildren: Mesca T. Bullard, Zachary Bullard, Brianna Bullard, Wyatt Bullard, Chelsey Bullard, Chona Bullard, Jace Iren Bullard and Amy Hite, two very special friends: Ms. Annie Neal Locklear and Ms. Yvonne Dial and a host of family and friends.
The family will receive friends Saturday, September 27, 2014, from 7-9 p.m. at Prospect United Methodist Church.
